Every Casual Loopers piece is composed while it's being played. A riff becomes a four-bar loop, the drums lock in, and the two musicians decide the arrangement in real time, from the first build to the last hit.
A guitar or keys idea is captured as a four-bar loop. It sets the tempo and the feel.
A few more parts are worked out, roughly a verse and a chorus, as building blocks, not a set order.
Changes, builds, breakdowns and the ending happen live, with drums and loops answering each other. The take is the song.
